Florida has entered into Mutual Recognition agreements with:
Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Nebraska, and Rhode Island
Qualified residents from these states may obtain a Florida real estate license by passing a 90-minute 40-question examination. The exam tests knowledge of Florida real estate license law, statutes and administrative rules. The exam is the same for salespersons and brokers. A score of 75%, or at least 30 out of 40 questions correct is required to pass.
Mutual Recognition rules apply only to individuals who are NOT Florida residents as defined by Florida Statute 475.
Although there is no requirement that an applicant must attend a course for this exam, we suggest the Florida Real Estate Law Exam Prep Online Course.

Military Personnel / Veterans / Military Spouses
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) now offers professional licensure to any individual that is currently serving, or has formerly served and received an honorable discharge, as an active duty member of the Armed Forces of the United States, or a spouse or surviving spouse of such member; and currently holds a valid real estate license in another state, the District of Columbia, any United States territory or possession, or a foreign jurisdiction. Applicants meeting these requirements will not be required to pass a Florida examination.
Although military applicants need not pass a state exam, we suggest the Florida Real Estate Law Exam Prep Online Course to familiarize licensees with laws particular to the state of Florida.
